Lancer is a different and unique class then most of its dps counterparts, it wont have the omg did you see the crit or have the range of a archer but what it will offer is a unique combination of abilitys and range too fight ennemies. Being a close to mid range fighter lancer won’t excel at anyting but infact this is what makes it unique and important in any group they can buff and debuff the mob and combined with the right class can make for a powerfull debuff class or a powerfull dps.
As we know that Archer is not to be underestimated being in the same class as a marauder being a dps class only in FFXIV, there real advantage being over any dps class is they are ranged. With variety of arrow types and ability’s archer have the potential to be the jack of all trades dps being usefull in anything too everything.
As the marauder did archer was a breeze to clear any guild-leveLs almost without a single target attacking you or making it near you, archer was a great change of pace from any melee class(buy ffxiv gil) and is different from many other archer type ranged dps class in mmo’s, it felt great and unique and the variety of ammo and abilitys makes it a true wildcard if any group. So here is opinion of Archer: Pros is Versatyle, unique jack of all trades dps nice addition and a must have for any group. Cons is Ammo Cost.
